About the Tropical Mimosa Cocktail
1. What is Pass-o-guava juice?
Pass-o-guava juice, also known as passion fruit and guava juice, is a blend of two tropical fruits – passion fruit and guava. It adds a delightful tanginess and sweetness to cocktails —like this mimosa recipe!
2. What’s the best alcohol for mimosas?
The alcohol used in mimosas is typically champagne or sparkling wine. Their light, bubbly natures complement the citrus flavor of the juice, creating a refreshing drink experience. This recipe includes rum for a boozier kick, making it appropriate for both spring brunches and cocktail hour!
3. Does a mimosa contain prosecco or champagne?
Traditionally, a mimosa is made with champagne, however prosecco, a sparkling wine from Italy, can also be used as a substitute. Both options offer a bubbly base that pairs wonderfully with the juice in a tropical mimosa.
4. What is the best juice to use in mimosas?
The most common juice used in mimosas is often orange juice. Its classic, citrusy taste blends seamlessly with champagne or prosecco, creating the iconic mimosa cocktail. However, other fruit juices like pineapple juice, peach nectar and yes, Pass-o-guava juice can be used to change up your mimosas, depending on your preferences.
