What is Buy Online Pick Up In Store?

Our In Store Pick Up program allows you to purchase items online and pick them up at a store location near you as early as the same day. It's fast and you save on shipping fees!

Just follow a few simple steps:

1. Look for items on worldmarket.com marked "FREE Store Pick Up"

2. Add items to your shopping cart

3. At checkout, choose which items to ship and which ones to pick up in store

Is the Buy Online Pick Up In Store option available at my local Cost Plus World Market store?

Buy Online Pick Up In Store is available at all Cost Plus World Market store locations. Check the availability by entering your City, State or ZIP on the product description page or select a store within the shopping cart to verify that the product is available for pick up at your local store.

How does the Pick Up In Store process work?

After completing your order online, you will receive a series of email messages. First, you'll get an Order Confirmation acknowledging receipt of your order. Then, you'll receive a Pick Up In Store Notification when your order is ready to be picked up at Cost Plus World Market.

How soon will my order be ready for pick up after I've ordered it online?

Most items will be ready for in store pick up within two hours of the time you place your order on worldmarket.com. However, you must place your order by 5 pm local time to pick up your order same day.

How will I know my order is ready for pick up?

When your order is ready for pick up, you will receive a Pick Up In Store Notification email, which will include instructions for picking up your item(s).

Where should I go to pick up my order once I arrive at the store?

Once you arrive at the store, you can go to the first available cashier to assist you with your order.

Once my order is ready, how long will it be available for pick up?

Your order will remain available for a maximum of 7 days from the time you receive a Pick Up In Store Notification. If you don't pick up your items by then, we'll cancel the order and refund your method of payment. Refunds can take up to 72 hours depending on your bank. Why do I need to provide my phone number when placing an order online?

You will receive a text notification when your order is ready. If for some reason there is an issue with a specific store's inventory, a store associate may need to reach you directly to provide additional information in regard to your order.

What are the restrictions for shipping to the store?

Online orders for items that must be shipped to your local store cannot include items that are available for pick up today. Please order items for free pick up today in a separate order online.

The confirmation email explains that an authorization is placed on your card until you pick up the merchandise.

If you pick up your order before 3 days have passed, your card is charged right away.

What do I need to bring to the store to pick up my order(s)?

For easy order pick up, please bring the following with you to the store:

  • A valid government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or passport
  • Your order number or Pick Up In Store Notification email

What if I can't pick up my order at the store and need to send someone to pick up my order for me?

For your protection, only you or a pre-authorized pickup person may pick up your order. During online checkout, simply select “Add an alternate pickup person” when asked who is picking up your order. Provide the name, email address, and mobile phone number (optional) of the person who will pick up your order. Providing this information allows us to send the Pick Up In Store Order Notification email directly to you as well as your pre-authorized pickup person.

Your designated pickup person will need to bring the following to the store:

  • A valid government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or passport
  • Your order number
  • Pick Up In Store Order Notification email

Your items will remain available for a maximum of 7 days from the time you receive a Pick Up In Store Notification. Orders not claimed after that will be available based on the product type and store location. What if I need to cancel my order?

After you have clicked “Place Order”, we are unable to cancel or change your order.* Our system is designed to process orders immediately.

*Please note: You may only cancel your order if you receive an email with one of the following messages:

  • “We are unable to process your payment information. Please contact World Market Customer Care immediately if you wish to cancel your order.”
  • “One or more items in your order are on backorder. (You may only cancel the backordered items.) Please contact World Market Customer Care immediately if you wish to cancel these items.”

What if I need to return an item(s) that I ordered?

To return any item(s), simply bring your item(s) and order receipt with you to any Cost Plus World Market store location within 60 days of purchase. For additional information, please refer to Cost Plus World Market's current return policy for details.

When will my credit card be charged for my purchase?

You will receive a Pick Up In Store Notification email, which will include instructions for picking up your item(s) and will state that an authorization has been placed on your card until the items are picked up. Your order will remain available for a maximum of 7 days from the time you receive a Pick Up In Store Notification. If you don't pick up your items by then, we'll cancel the order and refund your method of payment.
