Truck Art: The Tradition That Inspired Our Bombay Bazaar Collection

Fall brings exciting new arrivals to World Market – among them, the Bombay Bazaar Collection. This assortment of furniture, decor, dinnerware, and other treasures comes from South Asia, an area known for richly colorful and intricate artwork that can be found in the most unexpected places. One unique genre is their truck art. Prevalent in both Pakistan and India, the art of elaborately decorating delivery trucks and buses is unique to the region. Long-distance drivers like to have their trucks painted in styles that remind them of home, and leave no space – interior or exterior – undecorated. Some trucks even have elaborate wood carvings added to their rides, while others opt for political messaging, historical scenes or mirror work. Inspired by the truck art of the region, our buyers chose products that bring a little bit of that wild ride to your home.

I love the Bombay collection. I bought a camel head to mount to my wall, and it arrived yesterday
just as I imagined it ! I own a Bohemian sofa from World Market, and love it. Have had it nearly
a year and it wears wll….Also bought a hammered circular coffee table in a gold tone, which stores
all my blankets. I would recommend World Market to anyone looking for unique, and beautiful,
well-priced, nicely made articles. Just go online to the collection and you’ll find the prices you
    don’t see in the ad.
