It’s summer cocktail time, and we are READY. We’ve gathered up some of our favorite drink recipes that are perfect for warm weather sipping and entertaining. So break out your favorite serving pitchers – along with the mini drink umbrellas – and let’s concoct some delicious summertime libations!
A Summer Cocktail for Coffee Lovers
Want the kick of caffeine in your summer drink? Say no more. This Rum-Spiked Coconut Iced Coffee recipe by Kristin Guy packs a tropical wallop with coconut syrup, coconut milk and rum added to an already delicious cold brew.
Summer Southern Charm
This combination of two classic southern drinks is nothing short of genius. Serve Katie Workman’s Mint Julep Sweet Tea with plenty of fresh mint leaves and lemon slices. It’s a refreshing cocktail you can make beforehand; have it chilled and ready to pour from a glass carafe or dispenser. We’re fanning ourselves on our verandas just thinking about it!
A Peachy-Keen Beer Refresher
We’re serving up another southern-inspired hit this season! Cori George gives us her Southern Peach Radler Beer Cocktail, which cleverly combines beer, lemonade and peach brandy. That’s right, brandy’s not just for winter anymore. Present this summer cocktail in Mason jars or beer glasses, add fun straws and enjoy.
Italian Spritz With a Tropical Twist
How about something light, refreshing and not too sweet? This Tropical Rosé Aperol Spritz recipe by Shanna Schad is perfect to serve for brunch or during hot afternoons. Shanna takes a classic Italian refresher, uses sparkling rosé in place of Prosecco, adds a bit of passion fruit and sweetened lime juice, and elevates the original to a fruity delight.
Just Say Aloha
Shave ice is practically the official Hawaiian treat. Kristin Guy created an adult version that’s sure to be the hit of any luau! You can personalize this Hawaiian Shave Ice Cocktail recipe with your own syrup flavors and liquors. Try them served in a papaya half or a coconut, with extra roasted coconut on top.
Pleased as Punch
Looks like the southern states have the summer cocktail market cornered! Our final fave comes from Stacy of Little Figgy Food. Her Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail Punch is a beautiful blend of Southern Comfort, juice and lime sparkling mineral water. Serve in your favorite glasses with slices of lime.
We definitely have plenty of ideas here to wet our whistles, but what about you? Do you have a favorite summer drink recipe, with or without alcohol? Let us know in the comments below. Happy sipping!
