Rose and Mint Julep Recipe - Discover, a blog by World Market

Our rosewater version of the classic Mint Julep is closer to the original Arabic drink, “julab,” which is traditionally made with water and rose petals. Once taken by Mediterranean farmers at the start of the day to help them endure the demands of manual labor, the American Mint Julep’s noted addition of mint and bourbon all but got rid of the cocktail’s agrarian roots in exchange for a more genteel identity.

The star drink of the Kentucky Derby, our Rose and Mint Julep World Market version mixes hints of Arabic influence with American and bourbon-centric flavors to create a refreshing, aromatic drink that’s perfect for end-of-summer gatherings.

Enjoy!
