There are a lot of iconic images that come to mind while thinking about Marilyn Monroe. White dresses, ruby lips, long satin gloves…cocktails? Okay, we probably have never wondered what this bombshell actress’ favorite evening drink was, but after a little research it is a very interesting find indeed!

Nothing screams iconic Hollywood style quite like Marilyn Monroe, or champagne for that matter! So we decided to shake things up and get old school glamorous for the upcoming Academy Award celebrations. Bubbles are a classic and this particular cocktail takes a surprising plot twist with the addition of grenadine and Apple Brandy. It’s perfectly effervescent with just a hit of sweetness and a finish of unexpected round caramel notes from the brandy.

I’d suggest using a very dry champagne or sparkling wine to allow the other flavors to come through and go for those glossy marachinos for that extra beauty mark pop. What a looker! A little bit dainty, a tiny bit dangerous – there’s a lot going on in this pretty little package. Oh and don’t forget that little fleck of edible gold on your cherry for a little Oscar gold all your own!

And the winner is…clearly you if you decide to serve these up at your upcoming viewing party. Cheers!
