Don’t we all spend the first few months of year trying to incorporate better habits? Sure, we weren’t so successful about trying to resist that massive box of donuts, but at least we can try to make some healthier choices moving forward…like adding green juice to our cocktails!
Fresh pressed juice cocktails are a big thing right now, and I wanted to play up the juniper flavors in gin with a zippy super green juice. Paired with the unexpected flavors of tarragon and aloe (both also good for you), the result is one spirited aromatic bevvy that is complex in taste, but not in preparation.
Tarragon has a slightly bittersweet flavor and an aroma similar to anise which plays nicely off the sweetness of the aloe water and herbaceous green juice. Gin sings beautifully with all these flavors while the bitter lemon tonic water brings everything together with the perfect amount of citrus and effervescence.
This is one refreshing cocktail that definitely has our sights on the warmer days of Spring ahead. Here’s to raising a green glass and a healthy new year – cheers!
