I’ll be the first to admit that as much as I love Christmas baking, sometimes it’s nice to have access to a sweet treat that you can put together in only a few minutes, like this chocolate mug cake.

This recipe is almost too easy. All you need is a mug, some milk, a microwave, and that’s it! In just over a minute, a cup of cake batter is transformed into a hot, chocolate cake for one—or two, if you feel like sharing. This mix is great on it’s own, but I ended up adding just a few chocolate chips and finished it off with a bit of peppermint icing, which really makes it taste like Christmas.

The holidays can be quite the hectic time, and it’s nice to know that with a mix like this, a sweet, chocolatey treat is only a few minutes away.

Delicious! And so easy to make. I skipped the peppermint topping, but followed the rest of the directions. Perfect to keep in the cabinet for impromptu guest. The addition of milk vs. water makes for a creamier chocolate cake.
Love all of Dr Oetker’s mixes too.
    Thanks!
