Refresher Course: Landyn Shares Her Guest Room Reorganization

New year, new looks in every nook! My 2019 resolution is reorganization! I plan to de-clutter every corner and refresh every room, and the last stop on my tidying tour is my guest house. As you know, I recently gave my guest house a complete makeover and I could not happier with how it turned out. Let’s take a look at the details that make this guest room a getaway where your guests will want to stay.

Corner Store

One of the first places I refreshed was the bathroom. I added a few items like a new rug and shower curtain, but I didn’t have quite the storage that my guests would need to keep their toiletries tidy. Fortunately, World Market has the ideal 4-tier storage tower that tucks into a corner to give my guests stylish spot to stack their belongings.

Details Work

I threw in some towels, a tropical plant and this oh-so-on-trend round mirror. While browsing the store, I was inspired to take a few assorted knobs and attach them to the wall to use for jewelry storage. I love how it turned out! These unique choices add so much more to the overall style of the space than plain hardware store hooks.

Closet Reorganization

Another area for me to tackle was storage and reorganization behind my sliding barn door. Before, it was random tubs and a hodgepodge of wrapping paper and ribbon. Now it’s organized (and a joy to behold), thanks to all the savvy storage baskets and unique containers that World Market offers. Be sure to check out their Home Office section for sturdy, industrial-chic storage, and don’t forget to shop the Kitchen and Bath departments for charming ideas for using trays, pots and jars.

Power Plants

Another way I like to refresh a space and bring new life to a room is by adding greenery. And if you haven’t checked out World Market’s thoughtful selection of faux plants, stems and potted plants… do! A few faux Monstera leaf stems in a recycled glass vase make any corner Instagram-worthy.

Also, World Market has fig trees in two sizes. They really look like the real thing and best part…they won’t die! So, if you’ve had trouble keeping the real thing alive, snag one or two of these. I added one to the corner of the entrance right by the stairs and complemented it with this super-chic ombre basket.

Shelf Help

The last space I added to was across from my kitchenette. These marble shelves are ideal for the space. Plus, I customized them with mix-and-match brackets. I stacked bowls, coffee mugs, and the prettiest French press I ever did see, along with an assortment of storage canisters and one cute little cactus to complete the look. Et voila! The guest house was officially complete. Bring on the guests–Hotel Hutchinson is open for business!

I love this look!!! I have a question, It seems like you kept your metal accents the same. Do you ever mix them up in a small space or does that make the space more visually cluttered? Thank you, for your inspiration!!!!
