Entertaining for the holidays can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Today I’m sharing a versatile way to get ready for all those holiday parties—with a bar cart!
Did you know that you can style food and drinks for just about any occasion with a bar cart? They are so versatile because they are easy to move from room to room, big enough to hold food and drinks for a party, and small enough to manage and not look overwhelming when filled up.
I’m sharing three amazing ways to style your bar cart for the holiday season that include creating a hot cocoa bar, a milk and cookies party, and movie night treats. Grab your bar cart and get ready for some delicious styling inspiration!
First things first: before you start planning your next party, you’ll need to choose a bar cart. My absolute favorite is the Gold Cole 3-Tier Rolling Bar Cart. This cart is great because it’s got a lovely antique gold finish as well as three different levels, which means more room for food and drinks. Each tier also has a lovely mirrored tray that reflects light beautifully.
Style #1: Milk and Cookies Party
Serve up a nice selection of cookies and treats with some ice cold milk with a holiday milk and cookies party!
This milk and cookies bar cart display has something for everyone. On the top level I stacked two Ivory Amelie Cake Stands to hold gingerbread men cookies, Danish butter cookies, and Ghirardelli Holiday Chocolate Squares. I love the white chocolate holiday shapes in each milk chocolate square!
Ice cold milk was served in glass milk bottles with some red glitter ribbon tied on top to dress them up for the party.
The second level of the cart features individual portions of tasty treats that I put inside peppermint mini cupcake liners and placed on white rimmed rectangle platters. They make the cutest little cups to hold dusted chocolate toffee peanuts, peppermint Junior Mints, and German chocolate and marzipan Santas.
Stacked in between the candies are small striped confectionery boxes filled with more treats for guests to take home. Mini cookie cutters in holiday shapes are tied to the top of each box with glitter ribbon as a special gift for guests.
On the bottom tier of the bar cart are three glass containers filled with delicious cookies. Two half-gallon glass storage jars are filled with dulce de leche and chocolate peppermint pizelle cookies.
Egg nog rolled wafer cookies fill a tall glass apothecary jar, and is perfect for dunking in that ice cold milk!
Style #2: Hot Cocoa Bar
Another holiday party idea using a bar cart is to create a hot cocoa bar. Since the entire bar is on a cart, it’s easy to bring out for a cozy night at home watching Christmas movies or to enjoy after a nice holiday dinner.
You’ll want to stock up on a variety of hot cocoa flavors so everyone gets to drink their favorite holiday flavors. I chose to serve a milk chocolate cocoa mix, dark chocolate cocoa mix, and dulce de leche white hot chocolate mix, all of which tasted absolutely amazing!
White stacking mugs were the perfect size for guests to drink from. The best thing about these mugs is that they stack perfectly, which makes storing them so easy since they take up very little space.
All sorts of delicious hot cocoa toppings and mix-ins were placed on the second row of the bar cart. Candy canes, peppermint crunch baking chips, mint dark chocolate twigs (my favorite), marshmallows, peppermint stir sticks, and Hammond’s large candy canes all look and taste amazing with the variety of hot cocoa flavors.
On the bottom of the cart are some holiday treats to enjoy, including Christmas Jordan almonds in red, white, and green, rock candy on wooden sticks, and chocolate peppermint rolled wafers. Family and friends will love indulging in all these yummy treats!
Style #3: Movie Night Party
Cuddling up with loved ones to watch Christmas movies is one of the best parts of the holiday season. Treat everyone to a movie night cart filled with popcorn and snacks that will satisfy their salty and their sweet cravings!
Popcorn boxes are lined up and ready for guests to fill with their favorite popcorn flavors. Theater boxes of Junior Mints and Mike and Ike’s are available for snacks, as is an apothecary glass jar filled with fruity gummy bears.
Now all you need is a great movie and your movie night party will be a huge success!
Entertaining during the holidays can be really fun and easy to plan. I hope I’ve given you some ideas of how you can entertain with a bar cart this season!
