Pretty, pastel and palate-pleasing… Everyone loves Easter treats, and we love finding new and beautiful ways of presenting them. Follow these simple steps to create giftable Easter Treat Jars that are easy, affordable and (dare we say?) adorable.
Easy Steps for Easter Treat Jars
1. Lovely Layering
PRO TIP: Decide on a candy color palette before you build. This helps you to avoid starting over if you don’t like color of a new candy after its already added to your vessel. Do you want layers of bright colors, or are you sticking with muted pastels?
Step One: Hold the vessel in your hand at an angle, and layer the candies as you gently spin the jar.
PRO TIP: For layered looks, keep in mind the size of the candy you’re using. If your bottom layer is large candy, the next layer should be a similar size or only slightly smaller. Very small candy can fall down into the spaces in the layer below. This will create more of a mixed look.
Step Two: Continue to spin and layer. Then seal the jar. It’s THAT easy!
PRO TIP: Be sure to fill the vessel all the way to the top with candy before placing the lid on. This helps prevent candy from being mixed up if you need to move or transport your jar.
2. Bunny Business
Step One: Create a layer of jellybeans on the bottom of the jar. Trim the grass candy to the right size.
Step Two: Create a “nest” on top of the jellybeans. Place your chocolate rabbit in her new nest.
Step Three: To get the bunny to stand up, simply nestle out a place in the grass candy (or whatever candy you’re using) for the bottom of the bunny to fit into. Add extra candy or grass around the bunny for extra stability.
PRO TIP: Use long tweezers to move and re-position things you’re not satisfied with.
