2 Outdoor Butler Tray Setups

An outdoor bar space is a necessity this summer, and there are so many ways to create one. My favorite outdoor bar space embrace my surroundings by incorporating wood textures and our herb garden. Mood lighting is also key in the space: rattan string lights and the hurricane lantern and flameless outdoor candle combo decorate during the day and illuminate at night.

The Zoey Butler Tray is the perfect piece with which to create your outdoor bar because it can easily be moved inside in the winter or during inclement weather. Also, the table can be flipped upside down for even more space.

Here are two different ways to utilize the butler tray to create an outdoor-perfect bar:

For the Cocktail Connoisseur

Start with the butler tray and stock it with five to six bottles. For the summer and outdoor entertaining, I recommend vodka, gin and rum, and two to three flavored spirits. Citrus fruits like lemons and limes are great drink garnishes; a cute bowl of citrus doesn’t take up a lot of space and is the perfect citrus holder.

For glassware, go with acrylic stemless wine glasses and tumblers; they are less likely to break so there is no need for mid-party clean up. Use an acrylic highball glass to hold your bar tools. I recommend a bar spoon, cocktail strainer and a double jigger. A small cutting board and a paring knife complete your bar tools.

For the Quick and Easy Entertainer

Flip the base of the bottle tray upside down so there is room for a drink dispenser and a wine chiller. Fill the wine chiller with ice and it can hold several wine bottles, mixers, beer bottles and more. Also, there is still plenty of room for acrylic glasses, wood bark coasters and a small glass filled with fresh herb garnishes.

When the sun goes down, move the drink dispenser to a small table (which I like to cover with a colorful napkin) and make room for an outdoor lantern and candle.
