Why We Love It

Boasting an intense ruby red color with violet nuances, this wine features a characteristic bouquet of the primary grape aromas. A fruity component, full-bodied and robust, it's very well-balanced with tannin and oak features. Extremely food-friendly, try it with meat lasagna or mild sausages. Italy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Not a Brunnello, but also not $95/bottle I lived in Europe for many years and loved the wines from the Tuscany region. I discovered Brunnello which are like red velvet. Now, unfortunately, they run around $95 a bottle. More than my budget easily affords. Then my local wine store recommended this wine. I was so pleasantly surprised. Great with food and great solo. You will be most pleased. I certainly was. It averages about $15-17 a bottle in my area, but DC is quite expensive so it may be less where you live. Stock up. Lovely. And as one commenter mentioned, the bottle itself is most pleasing. April 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic value I also received this as a gift from a visiting friend from Germany. Since then we have purchased numerous bottles and this has become our go to red. By no means am I a wine connoisseur, but I do appreciate a delicious wine that pairs well with most foods and is just as amazing to drink alone. This wine is from the same region in Italy as my grandfather, and I am certain that if he were alive today, he would approve. You will not be disappointed. September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Surprising I received this wine as a gift from a guest that had stayed in my BnB. I have a home in the Napa Valley in California , so naturally wine is a hobby of mine. I like finding good wine at a good value. I was charmed by the label and the attention of the small piece of vine attached to the bottle. I knew nothing of the winery. I opened this during the holidays as a casual wine while cooking with family & friends. I let it breathe for about an hour before tasting. I am not a wine snob, my sister however is. This wine is an exceptional value. I thought it was very good when I tasted it. My sister took one sip and looked at me while pointing at the bottle with raised eyebrows! "Where did you get this"? I contacted the guests and they told me they got it at World Market! This wine has a 92 rating. Read the tasting notes. They are accurate. I have no idea of the price of this wine, as I have yet to shop in the store but I believe it must be a good value. Everything in World Market is. If you are looking for something that is a good everyday wine, this is the ticket. January 10, 2014
