World Market® Turkey Brine 5 5 17 17
Great brine! I buy this brine every year in Oct. to make sure I have it on hand for Thanksgiving. It sells out fast. I add some whole allspice berries to the brine mix, then I brine my turkey over night and before roasting, I add one cut up red apple, a fresh poultry herb mix (thyme, rosemary, sage) a cinnamon stick and a cut up onion inside the cavity of the turkey. Rub a butter & poultry seasoning rub under the skin of the turkey and pepper the skin. Voila! it makes a superb turkey! November 28, 2013
Turkeys Beware!! Turkeys all over the world should be in great fear of this brine!! I gave up on roasting turkeys until I bought this brine on sale a couple of years ago. This makes the turkey juicy, flavorful, absolutely delicious. I bought a large bucket at a home improvement store and sterilized it for kitchen use. We remove the bottom drawer of the refrigerator for the bucket to fit, and allow the brine to work its magic. I butter the turkey and use just a little sea salt and cracked black pepper to prep for the oven. Simple, yet amazing. I'm on my way to World Market to pick up several packets right now! Amazing, and not just for turkey! This is the best brine I've come across, and we use it on whole roast chickens as well as turkey. I found I can put a whole chicken into a 1 gallon tea pitcher, then mix up a half gallon of water to a half cup of brine mix and pour in. Into the fridge for 24 hours... and I messed up once and had to leave it for 48 hours, still perfect! Of course it's amazing with turkey as well. The birds turn out moist and tender and absolutely delicious. Whenever our local World Market has this in stock I buy 4-5 bags to last me the entire year. November 12, 2013
excellent brine for turkey this is a great price for brine, last year I waited too long and they were out of it, I ended up buying at a cooking store for twice as much money!! this year I am going early! So much easier than making your own too. October 24, 2012
Excellent!! Excellent!! November 24, 2011
Perfect. It doesn't get any better. Four years in a ROW. The brine helps the turkey to thaw and it makes for the most flavorful birds ever. Had heard of brineing years ago. Tried it. Almost lost my life by not planning ahead. Must be catching on. This year they were sold out in my neighborhood store but found the last two (2)bags 22 miles away. I gave thanks to the World Market employee that grabbed the last bags for me. THE MOST FLAVORFUL AND JUICY BIRDS OF MY LIFE. Thank you. November 24, 2011
This stuff is great This made a great Turkey dinner even better. November 24, 2011
Absolutely Awesome! This is the first time I brined a turkey and it came out great! The turkey came out flavorful and moist. I followed as instructed then added my own twist. In the roasting pan, I put in carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns and water. I buttered the turkey then showered it with black pepper and smoked paprika. I did not stuff the turkey because it would make the stuffing too salty. The gravy came out perfect! No additional seasoning needed, just add thickening agent. Next time, after brining the turkey, butter it and let it sit uncovered in the fridge overnight. This will dry out the skin and make the skin crisp and brown. I find brining to be more time consuming but outcome is worth it! November 24, 2011
