Why We Love It

Richly grained acacia wood on a sleek metal base - there's more to this clever coffee table than meets the eye. Disguised as a drawer with a mid-century-style cutout handle, one side of the tabletop lifts up to reveal storage space for media accessories, and it can be extended into a laptop-friendly work surface. A small open cubby compartment keeps magazines and remotes accessible yet tidy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful mango wood contrasted with metal The box was smooshed and torn open in one corner when it was dropped off at my front door. It is a heavy table and was quite a challenge for me to slide the box up the stairs by myself (5'1" woman), but I managed! Assembly was straightforward, but the existing 2 metal bars that had already been attached to the wood top were not straight. I had to loosen the screws to loosen those 2 bars in order to fit the remaining legs/bars on to form proper square corners. (Without doing this, the legs/bars would have never fit!) I assembled it on it's side and had to finally ask for help to turn it upright. The part of the table that lifts makes a perfect temporary & quick desk while sitting at the sofa. The compartment is perfect for me to hide/put away my projector when it's not in use and this keeps my living room tidy! The table's width works well against a 89" wide sofa -- many coffee tables are not wide enough & would look disproportionately small against such a long sofa. The style mirrors my dining table (CB2 Dylan table: wood and metal hair pin legs) and offsets the West Elm Antwerp Sofa wonderfully! The Silas Coffee Table is a solid piece and well made. It's a bit pricey, IMO, but there are other similar pieces that cost even more, so I'm pleased. April 4, 2016
