As described by others, the wood is soft (especially on the drawer fronts) and comes a few dings/ imperfections, but mine weren't bad and I didn't consider them a deal breaker. I put a piece of glass on the top to protect it and give me a smooth surface to work on since I use it everyday. The desk is study, good looking and a great size. I wouldn't mind a few more drawers but the 3 it has are surprisingly spacious. March 6, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thisisnotmynickname Great Desk - Sturdy, Big, Looks Great! Great find, great deal! Heavy and very sturdy piece. Has a hip industrial-chic look, almost like a reclaimed piece. Shelves are very deep. We are using it for a widescreen computer and it's exactly what we were looking for. Fast shipping. Assembly is very simple. Takes two people to flip over. My one little complaint: the screws for the drawer handles were a touch too long, meaning the handles were a little loose. Went to hardware store and bought six washers, a $1.50 fix, but something that manufacturer should address. February 1, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tobydog38 Beautiful Rustic and Contemporary all in one Exceptional quality and easy to assemble. Ideally two people should lift this as it is HEAVY. I am a 60 yr old woman and was able to assemble the desk with the tools provided in about 1 hour. This looks great in my mountain home, but I could see this fitting in a loft or other industrial type setting just as well. I looked everywhere for a rustic looking desk and this one was about half the price of others that did not look as good. January 30, 2016
