I ordered two sets of these coffee mugs for our active family and received them about a week ago. I was not very familiar with World Market; this was our first purchase, but I'm happy to say, it won't be our last. Everything was impeccably packaged; something I'd expect from a much more expensive company.
This is beautiful, sleek, and minimal on my counter and the cups are a nice size (holds 8 oz.) This set is a wonderful value for the price. The only negatives I can think of are that it came shipped without protecting the ceramic cups from touching the metal surface. As a result, there were a lot of metal rub marks to remove, most of which came off quickly with some Barkeeper's Friend scrub. In general use, I don't find that the cups mark from simply placing or removing them from the chrome rack. The chrome has a small flaw on it, rust colored, though it doesn't act like rust (doesn't wipe off or stain.)
I bought 2 sets of the espresso cups, but not for espresso. I have a home daycare and I thought these were the perfect size mugs for my daycare kids to handle. We like to use real dishes to serve meals. These work great for cocoa, tomato soup, and even tea parties. I was looking for something stackable, because I insist that ALL my dishes and glasses be stackable. I also like the capacity of these 4 oz espresso mugs. Every other stackable espresso cup set i have seen has only been 3 oz. The chrome racks are sturdy and well made, but I don't use them, as I store them in my cabinets rather than on the counter. I did not find any chips or blemishes in any of my cups or saucers. They have a nice weight to them. The handles are very small, to allow for the stacking, and may feel too small for adults. I can only fit in the tip of my index finger.
I don't have much shelf space, and keeping these on the counter next to the coffee maker creates an attractive and easy use for small spaces. The mugs remind me of old diner mugs in style, size, and design. Love them!
I was specting more quality and bigger and they look cheap.
One of the saucer was broken when I opened the package but I returned the set because I didn't like the quality of the material... it feels cheap. Well, It was cheap so... I also like to leave my cups upside down on top of my espresso machine (to make them warm) and with this set it is impossible because the bottom round part, where the cup touches the counter, there is no paint, it's just plain ceramic ... very ugly :(
I am thrilled with this expresso cup set. I looked extensively for the right size....to hold a double expresso. I also wanted it to be plain white and
