I was highly skeptical about this, mainly because the little can of seafood had things like mussels that I didn't think would hold up well canned. To my surprise, when I opened the can the smell wasn't overpowering at all. I added chorizo and fresh shrimp and it came out pretty good. Jambalaya is in the American equivalent to Paella, basically add whatever you want and enjoy.

I make mine with all seafood, starting with a jar of Washington State shucked oysters (reserve juice) shrimp, scallops, canned clams (save juice) and chunks of whatever is on sale in the fish department. Substitute the fish stock for the H2O and you have a killer paella!
For garnishment, I serve it with pimento-stuffed olives and a cold glass of Pinot Grigio!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MommaBabe Excellent for Quick Dinner
My sister gave this to me to try out. After 4 months of sitting in my cupboard, I finally cooked it because I wanted to serve something different for dinner last night.
I followed the instructions and it came out great! Instead of adding more seafood to this Paella, I cooked the seafood separately. It was enough to feed us 4 big-rice-eaters. I just wish it was not as salty. But other than that, it was great! I will definitely try it again soon. Highly recommended.

i love this. i make mine in the rice cooker. just make sure to put less water then the instruction. it calls for 3 cups of water, i only use 2 in the rice cooker. just add all your favorite seafood(mine is shrimp and salmon) and turn on the rice cooker. when the timer goes off let it sit for 10min and it is ready.
