My son (7) was so excited when he saw these. He begged me to buy them and eventually used his own money to buy them and couldn't wait to use them at home. As soon as the lead was worn down and it was time to sharpen them, we had problems. I had to use a knife and do it for him - then we realized that it only has about half an inch of colored lead on each side - it does not go all the way through. There are pretty for decorative use, but are not functional.

Realistically, these pencils were a big disappointment. YES it does say on the tag, for decorative use only, however...most like I did, will NOT read that, because not many are going to *display faux colored pencils in their home* (why? Because it doesn't make any sense).
I was happy to see it noted openly online that they are decorative, but it also indicates they can be colored with, yes...maybe one picture, before you have to sharpen with a knife to discover, the rest of the stick is solid, with no color.
Pencils are commonly expected to perform, most realistically aren't going to even consider they might be fake pencils before purchase. I think World Market should just stop selling them or get some that are made to work for some reasonable amount of time.
The saddest thing is, the color that IS in the sticks is vibrant, there's simply not enough to do much with though.
