Rated 5 out of 5 by deb4325 great Christmas gift We put together an assortment of wrapped things as our family Christmas gifts this year and this bowl was one of the gifts. It's a lovely THICK glass bowl - the sides are a hair over 1/4" thick with a nice heavy bottom, a good 1/2" thick. You don't use a bowl like this often, but it holds 10" cake layers so is great for Black Forest Cake with a can of cherry pie filling between the layers and on top. It's also great for layering custard and fruit, so I wanted each family within the family to have one. I'd been looking for a couple of years and simply couldn't afford to buy 6 when they were $35 and $40 each. This bowl was the perfect choice and not a single bowl was broken in shipping. I can't see any way you could be disappointed with this bowl as a choice and it looks WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than it is! December 28, 2015
