Telluride Collection: Truly One-of-a-Kind Bakeware
Each unique piece in our exclusive Telluride Collection features a reactive glaze inspired by the mining town of Telluride, Colorado. The deep green hue is reminiscent of the forests of the Rocky Mountains surrounding the city, while the contrasting sand colored bottom resembles the residue found in mining pans by the community's original gold and silver prospectors.
Skilled artisans achieve the glaze's special effect through a two-step process. First, the sand color is applied to the bottom of the piece and allowed to air dry. Next, the green glaze is applied to the inside and top edge by carefully hand dipping multiple times. After firing it in a kiln at 1,800 degrees F, a distinctive color band appears in the center where the two glazes overlap and fuse. Resulting variations in pattern and texture highlight each stoneware creation's truly one-of-a-kind craftsmanship.
