Looking for this type of jar and this was perfect.
I was looking for something spooky and special to offset a cast iron cauldron of skulls that I was using as a centerpiece for my Halloween table. This was the perfect addition. I doubt that I'll use it for cookies (they never stick around for long anyway), but will, more likely, put it in my bookcase full of mystery and suspense novels. It's just too special to use only once a year.
Found online while searching your website.I really liked it and read the reviews.Seems to be a favorite. When I received it,I was surprised at how big it is.Unfortunately the lid was broken when I unwrapped it.(happened to another reviewer).I kept it anyway . Krazy glue did the job.I put it in the kitchen up high and admire it.Very interesting and something to talk about. Will use for misc. Not for cookies because there is no silicone rubber around the lid.I intend to use year round.
I purchased this last year and it's been in my living room ever since, filled with candy! Some might think the opening is too small for cookies but candy is great and my husband's big hand digs through it just fine. I'm surprised we haven't broken it to be honest but it held up with 2 klutzes using it. Only 2 things would make it better - doing the glaze in a matte finish, at least on the pages and having a silicone ring to seal out moisture. The humidity here in FL would mess with any cookies in it, but wrapped candies are no problem. I highly recommend it and you can't beat the price!!
Bought this last year (2013) and plan to use again this year. It would hold lots of cookies or treats, but last year I only used it as Halloween decoration in my kitchen. Couldn't pass it up for the price and it's uniqueness.
This was a great value for the price since you might only put it out at Halloween. But it's fun enough to leave out all year round. I bought several for my kids and grandkids.
