I was leery of its claim to fame upon approach (bright and festive colors are not always the most attractive color scheme). I would compare it to one of those hidden "hole in the wall" restaurants. Unless you know about it, most people would just pass on by. This however is not something you want to pass up. I happen to like a wide range of hot sauces and I would have to say this one lands right in the middle of my sauce spectrum. It is just the right amount of tang, followed by a little kick and a whole lot of flavor. Its hard to come by hot sauces that you can actually taste the ingredients. Most of the time its a whole lot of heat followed by a vinegar wave that could nearly knock you out. I believe the carrot base rounds out the flavors and allows the palette to really taste every aspect of this unique hot sauce. 1st Experience- Pair it with some fresh shrimp tacos, spicy slaw and avocado. Rated 5 out of 5 by parker The best hot sauce for taste and temp Sontava XX hot sauce has an excellent carrot-based taste with just enough bite to make foods interesting. Most other hot sauces have bold names proclaiming both heat and taste, yet they inevitably fall short with a vinegary taste and little bite. The Sontava XX is just right, as I once tried the XXX and it was just too hot and the heat overpowered the taste. World Market also packaged the bottles very carefully, and every bottle of the dozen ordered arrived intact and rapidly. December 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by rader excellant product just right for eating with the foods you love This sauce adds huge flavor on fresh sliced tomatoes, splashed on steaks, burgers, French fried potatoes or any thing you can imagine. The fresh pepper taste and pungent aroma are completely unique. Santava is hot but not painful so you can enjoy it all through a meal and still want to eat more. Sadly it is no longer available anywhere in Georgia and can not be found easily even on the most advanced search sites like Goo or Yah, etc. Searching Belize hot sauces and viewing many web sites lead me to worldmarket.com. An order for 10 bottles will last 4 or 5 months at most. October 3, 2012
