Although this was not an item I purchased for myself, I gave it to my daughter for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES it. I knew she wanted a slate cheese board, but I had no idea what size. I made the right decision in ordering this particular one. She liked the fact that it was larger then some she had seen so it would be more useful. Also the fact, that it could be written on was another feature she liked.

We bought these to use as placemats - not cheese boards - for our wedding. They come with marble "chalk" which is very cool - although we did not use it - we stenciled phrases on them with white stencil paint. They have a nice quality - and the price is excellent.

This cheese board is fab, fab, fab! Did I say fab? Seriously. For the price, you are getting a huge cheese board. I priced several other slate cheese boards at numerous online and brick and mortar stores. At this price point, they were half the size of this one (if I was lucky). Many looked like they were only fit for a dollhouse! Needless to say, I ordered two! The cost was still LESS than the price of one of similar quality from another store. What a deal!

This is sturdy, a good size and easy to write on. We loved this so much that we got several for our friends at Christmas and had them shipped directly from World Market. The only downside is that while WM allows you to include a message when you are sending it as a gift, they also include the receipt with the PRICE, so just beware that when sending gifts, there is no "gift receipt" option.
