Cute quality fun! I bought this toy in the store a year or so ago before the Omaha store closed, and it differs slightly from the product on this page. Mine came with a little wooden storage crate, but not the songbook mentioned in the description here. Overall this product is great. I bought it for my younger sister who is now 2 years old. She loves it and she is able to drag it around the house and easily play it by herself. The paint has not chipped or peeled and the entire toy is very sturdy. It has also been able to withstand the rough treatment from her older siblings who try to help her play it. There are only two small things that kept me from giving this product 5 stars: 1) this instrument is not quite on key. I don't think this is a huge deal since it is just a toy, but if you are trying to do ear training at an early age or something, this is not a perfectly tuned xylophone. 2) I think the mallet should be shorter and fatter. This kind of mallet is easy to play with, but could be a choking or injury hazard with very young children. Besides those two points, this is a great, and very cute, toy. My sister loves playing with it and it was well worth purchasing, especially at this price. April 17, 2010
Careful With the stick... I gave 1 one star to this product because, after about 5 minutes my kid spent playing with it, the ball at the top of the stick came off and he was putting it in his mouth. This is for sure a shocking hazard. I am sure for older kids this won't be a problem, but for younger toddlers this is not the most clever idea. May 12, 2012
