Rated 5 out of 5 by This a tasty gingerbread treat Our daughter included a package of these in our Christmas package she sent us. We loved them! I went online to Cost Plus to order more and at that time they were $11.97 for 3 packages. With shipping I couldn't see spending that much for 7 cookies. I went back again a few days later and they were o sale for $3.00 for 3 packages! I ordered 5, so 15 packages of cookies. We have these as a special treat as we both love ginger anything. They are a soft, lightly glazed ginger cookie, except for the yummy 2 chocolate coated cookies. I can't eat them right out of the package because I will eat the whole package, they are that good!! I will certainly look for them again next year. February 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Memories of Nuremberg, Germany While on a Christmas Cruise I discovered Lebkuchen in Nuremberg, Germany. These are so delicious and not easy to find stateside. Thank you World Market for bringing these to those that love the German spiced cookie. December 18, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by A Tip Remove the white plastic liner on the bottom of the cookie. It's baked on so it looks like hardened glazed frosting. I've never had Lebkuchen so I didn't know. With the liner, the cookie is HORRIBLE. Without the liner, it's actually a tasty cookie! yes, yes, yes - I ate a whole cookie with the liner. December 31, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by very dissapointed I look forward to purchasing Lebkuchen every year and was solely disappointed this time. This was not the brand I usually purchase at World Market and definitely lacked in taste and texture. I would not recommend this brand. December 18, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dry I expected either crispy or soft and moist. This was soft and somewhat dry. It had no strong flavor or spice to redeem it. I took a bite of 2 types and threw it all away. December 15, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Inferior Brand - Get Bahlsen I look forward to a few guilty pleasures every Christmas, namely the Bahlsen Lebkuchen which I usually find at World Market. This year I went to World Market and all I could find was this new brand: Schuhmann. It was terrible, dry, stale nuts at the bottom. No comparison. Don't waste your money or the calories. I took them back. Please get the real thing back... November 27, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by These taste Horrid. One would think that these cookies would be great additions to holiday coffees and teas. However, they are not. Point of fact, my guests described their taste as more similar to plastic or the presumed flavor of common packing peanuts. My opinion is that they are simply horrid. Of the four packages purchased, all had the same plastic or packing peanut flavor. When tossed to enthusiastic ducks, they were eaten greedily - at first - and then even the ducks let the wafers sink. What looked to be a great holiday addition was a disappointment.
