Well, I have been through a number of pans, celebrity, new non-stick and tried and true. And like the first reviewer, cast iron is simply too heavy to use. So I went really looking and studying and decided that enamel on steel would be the way to go. Then I came across this pan. And it is wonderful. Cast iron, but light and enamel, which is environmentally safe and durable. I'm in love. And on the first use I burned, I mean really burned, the pan. It cleaned with ease. A Little sprinkling of baking soda and a little bit of dish soap and a dish cloth scrubby. And that was enough. Almost no elbow grease. Well. The second night I baked in the oven--lasagne. All burnt on and gooey. It also cleaned with ease. Not to mention cooking beautifully both on top of the stove to brown meat and onions, etc, but then to just pile in the ingredients and bake in the oven. So now I will buy the rest of the line. And hope that this one will last the rest of my lifeltime--I'm 60. Happy cooking folks. And the price is amazing. This pan will get used a lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TrishHenry I love this pan!
Ok, a couple of years ago I got a big cast-iron pot with lid because all the cooking shows were all about them. It was so heavy when I had stuff in it to cook, it actually bowed down my cheap oven's rack! And it was so heavy!! And really huge!!
So I thought I'd try this lighter stuff. IT IS GREAT!!! It really is way lighter. And it's big without being almost too big to fit in my oven. And, I made a cheesy dish where the cheese I used sticks to everything, but clean-up was super easy--no scrubbing at all! I let it soak in water for a little and the scrapped the cheese gunk off with a silicone scraper and it cleaned up easy peasy with no work. (don't use metal or you'll scratch and ruin the enameled interior)
Anyway, my new favorite pan for cooking stuff in the oven. It holds a lot. For thanksgiving I had a double-sized bag of cut-up sweet potato with other veggies mixed in and then put a turkey breast on top and there still was room for more. And did't hurt my back or bow my oven rack putting it in. Yay! This one is a keeper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chimonger Pretty in blue; really is lightwt. for cast iron...
Bot both the 2 quart and 4 quart sizes of this....was considering returning the 4-qt. one, but the more I use the 2-qt. one, the less inclined I am to return the 4-qt one!
Been using the small one almost daily for a few weeks; learning curve using the loop-handles, but like it!
Like the higher sides, to help contain fluffy foods, like a pile of greens.
A bit dubious of it's claim to be non-stick ceramic, was pleasantly surprised that it really does seem to do that pretty well. It's had one episode of bacon half-burning to it, but that cleaned up with a sponge + Bon Ami [never scratches; non-toxic; commonly available].
The claim of "lightweight" cast-iron, seemed far-fetched, but it really is pretty comparable to an average skillet of similar size.
The loop-handles make it easier to control; if little kids visit, there's no long handle to attract their attention, and no long handle for me to bump.
It works well on induction burners, as the bottom is nice and flat.
I think this is a "keeper"!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ampang This product meets my needs
I like to cook in a heavy pan and this pan meets my family's needs.
Pros: Large enough capacity for family of 4
Attractive enough to take from stove to table. Saves washing 2 things.
Cons: It tends to burn spices quickly and leaves burned marks I can't seem to get out, no matter how much elbow grease I use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sabz It burns
I bought this and the soup pot. You have to keep stirring often or the food burns on the bottom even with plenty of oil and liquid. It does clean up easily with soap and baking soda but the constant scorching of food is a big problem. I'll use it as long as I can, but I won't be buying any more. It is probably going to work better in the oven (lasagne, casserole type dishes) but for a stew or curry, this is not working as I had hoped.
