Great Jars These are great jars, but they aren't round - they're square (at least the 2 smallest sizes). They also come with a greasy gasket (is that what you call the rubber seal??). But once cleaned up they are a nice jar with very little flaws and the wire part is nice and sturdy. October 18, 2013
Love these I ordered 5 of the largest and I'll be ordering more. Great place to store flours, beans, etc. I moved into a place where meal bugs were hiding in the pantry. After throwing out a lot of food that became infested, I found these and have no more problems. August 14, 2013
fantastic! I have ordered these jars several times. I've been wanting canisters for coffee, flour, etc, but canister sets have very, well, set, numbers and sizes of jars. I wanted something I could add to or change. These are perfect: whenever I want more, here they are (unless they're out of stock, which happens a lot). I bought some chalkboard contact paper and cut it to size to make chalkboard labels for each of these jars which make them absolutely perfect. (The contact paper even stays on when I wash them!) The largest jar I use for flour and sugar. A 5-lb bag of sugar fits easily. The bag of flour is a little tighter of a squeeze, so I just make sure to use a few cups before pouring the rest in the jar. The second jar fits a 2-lb bag of powdered sugar easily. This is also the jar I will use for pasta when I order a second one. A 1-lb box of pasta would work for sure in this size. The third largest jar is my (and, apparently, world market's) most popular jar. I use it for beans, nuts, brown sugar, couscous, coffee, popcorn, rice. Everything fits perfectly. The smallest jar I bought originally for beans. It is the least useful to me. A 16-oz bag of beans will fit in this size, but it's really tight, and I'd rather just use the larger jar when I can get it. I have two of these and don't really know how to use them because they are a bit small for my needs. All of the jars arrived wrapped in layers and layers of bubble wrap, and I didn't had any trouble with them breaking on the way. I don't know precisely how leak-proof they are because I haven't turned them upside down or anything, but I haven't noticed any issues on that front during everyday use. They keep my sugars, especially, sealed enough that they don't clump, which is what matters to me. June 3, 2013
one was too tight all others perfect i bought the jars for airtight food storage. (flour, sugar, coffee, etc.) All of them are definitely air tight and I like the way they look on the counter and being able to see inside. I bought various sizes including the largest one. They all arrived together and were packaged very well. None arrived damaged. The lid clasp was too tight for the largest jar I think because the first time I opened and closed it the jar cracked all the way down on one side. All the others were fine though and they seem really durable. No other problems so far. I would just suggest loosening the clasp if you feel it is too tight/too difficult to close before re-closing it. January 28, 2013
Very good for bulk items I got these for flour, beans, granola etc. The large size is good for flour, but didn't fit a whole bag of King Arthur unbleached. Some of them don't have the tightest seal, but I'm sure if I cared enough I could fiddle with the latch and make it tighter. That's on the list with fixing my broken teacup... Great storage! Does Not Seal Tightly I have purchased these jars before and remember them sealing tightly. These did not seal as tightly as I remember. There was some slight leakage. I.would buy them again, though. March 16, 2013
Only one I've seen. This is what I was looking for but the metal clamp is loose and the lid falls off. I can't seem to figure out how to tighten it once and for all. August 23, 2013
