Comments about Rectangular Black Greyson Extension Table:

Received this table in time for Christmas dinner. Great size and very good heft. So much heft in fact, I had to argue with the delivery folks to even bring it in the house. They wanted to just leave it in my driveway, because at they said, "It's very heavy." I have about 7 steps up to the front door of the house. Not sure how they thought my 5'4" self was going to get it up on my own, when two grown men didn't want to attempt it. Besides the fact that I was given an 8-5 window for delivery where I HAD to be home, so why would they think it was alright to just leave it in my driveway?

The table looks great from far, but up close, the quality is just okay. The finish is not the quality I hoped for. The legs are very rough, instead of being finely sanded and finished. Overall the black finish is inconsistent and uneven. In the sunlight, you can see streaks and is more of an espresso color. It doesn't look terrible, but if you're looking for a black black table, this isn't it. It actually looks like they only stained the table once, when they should have done at least two coats.

With all that said the table is a great value. It was far cheaper than similar items at pottery barn where I have been similarly unhappy with the quality of my purchases. I am less bothered about the imperfections this time, since I didn't pay 3-4 times the price. I still really like the table, despite the quality. It is a great size, fitting 9 of us comfortably around the table without the extra leaf. And the extra leaf is huge, so will easily extend to fit 4-5 more folks.

That's another thing to note. The extra leaf is huge and heavy. I still haven't figured out where to store it, but I'm glad to have it.

Comments about Rectangular Black Greyson Extension Table:

Bought this table with 8 matching chairs. Order arrived earlier than expected and looks great. Cost Plus has amazing Customer Service - we had an issue with one of the matching chairs that they quickly resolved. I think this table actually looks better in person than in the pictures!

Comments about Rectangular Black Greyson Extension Table:

Table looks exactly like the photo online. Beautiful table with a great finish. Only hiccup is the extension doesn't latch properly on one corner, but still functions.

Beautiful Table- Great Value!

Comments about Rectangular Black Greyson Extension Table:

I could not find a reasonably priced large, long, black table until this showed up in a search results list. I received my table today and I love it. The dark wood grain is clearly visible and unlike someone else noted, I do not see any uneven areas in the paint. I also don't see any areas where the table has distressing that results in splinters, as I have read in other reviews for the brown version of this table. It is a beautiful, heavy, quality piece of furniture.

Assembly is easy- you attach two pieces of lateral connecting wood to the legs, and then you screw the legs into the table base. I elected to leave off the middle wood piece, but it's not a complicated additional step to add it. Once the table is flipped over, you unlock the latches from the bottom, pull apart the two sides of the top of the table, slide the extension in, and then re-lock. Because the top of the table slides apart, you don't have to actually lift the table at all to put in the extension. Then you re-lock the bottom, which takes literally your thumb and forefinger to do (it's not sticky or hard to lock at all).

Also, while this table is super heavy, I am a 5'2, 125 pound woman and I put it together myself and flipped it right side up by myself, so with a little creativity (I used some books under the corners and a chair for leverage), if you don't have help, you will be able to assemble and set this up by yourself.
