I originally purchased this to keep next to the stove to use as a spoon rest. I also use one next to the stove where I keep my olive oil, salt and pepper to keep my counter clean. I had concerns that this would be fragile, but I am not at all worried about breaking it. I have also found it to be the perfect size to put out a stack of crackers for dip, or some hor d'oeuvres. It is a perfect white and matches my Williams S Pantry dishes. I plan on getting more. Also, the rim of the plate is only half an inch leaving you plenty of space for your food. Other plates I have seen tend to have more rim than serving space.
