Why We Love It

Crafted in India exclusively for World Market, our Plum Khadi Napkins are made from 100% textured, slubby cotton. The richly dyed cotton is spun into threads on a spinning wheel called a charkha, creating this lovely backdrop for your table setting. In the 1920s, Mahatma Gandhi began promoting khadi, which literally means cotton in Indian, as a means to strengthen India's economy. It holds a sentimental value for Indians to this day.
