I wanted a small grill that would allow me to cook with just a few pieces of charcoal. My larger grill is fine when I am going to cook quite a bit but most of the time I only want to cook a couple burgers or a pack of hot dogs. This grill works great for that. Many years ago a had a nicer than average hibachi (round and very well made) but someone else thought they needed it more than me. :( This does a pretty good job of replacing that plus it is so fun. My 23 year old grandson stopped by when I was cooking myself some pork chops recently and he got such a kick out of me cooking 'pig on pig' that he took a picture with his phone to send to friends. So, great for the single person, like me, or a couple. Plus it is a unique conversation piece as well. The only thing I would mention as a downside is the grate seems to be losing its finish. I plan to start using disposable grill toppers cut to size if it becomes an actual issue.
This pig grill is a great way to change up your everyday weeknight cooking. It's great for entertaining and also great for single people my cat and I cook on this grill about every other night. Not only is the grill great for cooking it adds a pleasant aesthetic to my porch, I know my "friends" are very jealous.
I named my terracotta pig "Margarita" after a pet pig my sister and I had in the farm back in old Cuba. So far I have used it for hot dogs and it works beautifully. It also looks adorable in the terrace.
This terra cotta hibachi was a big hit for Christmas gifts. I bought 6 of these for gifts and everyone loved it. I did tell each person about the comments made on the hibachi regarding cracking etc.. It was decided that if the gril ever cracked that it would make an adorable planter and still be very useful and adorable.
I saw this grill in your circular and thought "how cute!" I, then, went to my local store to see it in person . . . I was sold! I've owned it 2-3 months & use it about 2-3 times a week. I liked the story behind it. Not only is it unique but practical as well. I am very happy with my "pig!" It's a great conversation piece, too.
Love, love, love our new pig! Cooks very well and is the perfect size. We've used our new piggy all holiday weekend and now feel confident to test him out on company. Only complaint I have is he arrived with a broken nose... but we consider him a "rescue pig" now. We've been using about 10 briquets and that is plenty.
