hard to build and tasted terrible The icing was difficult to use (as binding for the walls of the house). The candies were sweet (the kids loved them) but the gingerbread was terrible. It was fun for the kids to try to build (we ended up just letting each kid design one "wall" and then gave up trying to put it together), but certainly don't buy it for any nutritional value or taste. Horrible My grandson and I were excited to make this but when we opened the product the chocolate house was broken and in pieces. Threw it away and bought one at a nearby store. January 23, 2013
don't waste your time had to trow away this kit. cookies and icing were taste bed . it is impossible to put everything together unless you put it on super glue for decoration only. don't waste your time. December 20, 2012
I have nothing positive to say about this product I have never written a review about anything, but I was so disappointed in this Holiday House that I've made it a point to let everyone know to not buy it. Four of the six pieces were broken when we opened it, and even though all the candy was listed as being included, there wasn't one piece of candy in the box! We thought we might be able to use frosting and patch the pieces back together, but the frosting was too dry (not to mention that it tasted dreadful) and the cookies were a texture that crumbled very easily. I ended up just throwing it in the trash. Last year I made a fun kit from a different brand and had no problem putting it together with my granddaughters. This year we were all very, very disappointed. December 17, 2012
There's a reason why it was only $5 I know most cookie house kits can be a challenge, but this is ridiculous! One of our roof pieces automatically broke even before we could glue it on. And now, well, it seems to be a lost cause. The icing is awful, doesn't hold at all. And, it tastes awful! I thought these were supposed to be at the very least, somewhat tasty. Luckily my daughter is too young to care that it was a failure! December 16, 2012
Major Fail From the box this house looked really great. From the packaging the house looked intact and in better quality than most gingerbread house kits. Decorating it was fun, but immediately I noticed something. The roof pieces were much heavier than the other pieces, and the icing was very runny.... The house collapsed, completely. No amount of icing or drying kept this house together, and as I suspected it would, the law of physics won out. December 10, 2012
