Looks great, that 's about it. Ordered this bed with a raincheck (at full price), but my order was not shipped to my local WM store until a couple months later. Being a single woman living in a third floor walk-up apartment, I found this relatively light/easy to get into my SUV at the store, and then carry from my SUV to the bedroom. Assembly took about 45 minutes to an 1 hour. Now that I have had this bed for a month, I am starting to see problems. One of the side rails has started to bow out, thus in turn causing the wooden support slats to sporadically slip of balance, causing the mattress to collapse at random points during the night. I am under 150 lbs and I sleep alone, so its beyond me as to why this is happening. Also, anytime I move the creaking is enough to keep me awake at night. I will try ordering new side rails to see if that makes a difference, but for the price, I would expect at least mid-grade quality materials. For this to be a "World Market" product, I am incredibly disappointed.
I bought 2 of these beds for my daughters. They were even better looking than I expected. The fabric is a strong, very nice linen. My husband assembled them in about 30 minutes and laughed about the comments saying you need longer screws because you DON'T! They were trying to put the screws in backwards! The holes are counter sunk and if you use the correct side of the screw it works perfect!
I LOVE the look of this bed. Seriously, it makes my heart happy. However, I have had to have the side rails replaced several times, and then an entirely new bed because enough was enough. Something as simple as sitting on the side of the bed to put on lotion was enough to snap the board. I'm a little curvy, but I weigh less than 200 pounds. A bed should be able to hold much more weight than that! What if there were two people sitting there? But no, it broke. More than once.
My wife purchased because she thought it was a good value and was stylish. I am reporting that after 2 years of regular use it is now broken beyond repair. The headboard became loose. The screws that attach the brass plate from the headboard to the side rail have migrated several inches lower on one side, completely stripping the wood frame inside the upholstered headboard for several inches in a vertical direction.
I am very happy with this bed. I got it on sale and I had an explorer coupon so it was very affordable. DEFINITELY follow the advice of earlier reviewers and get longer wood nails. That will save you energy.
This was super easy to put together and really pulls the bedroom together. I have dark furniture aside from this so it's a nice contrast.
We were looking at the Colette bed from Crate and Barrel but have a cross-country move in our future and the thought of an almost $2000 bed getting dirty or marred was making me think twice. We saw this bed had great reviews and took the plunge. I'd say the quality of this bed is quite high, it's sturdy, we've had no issues of squeaking or any other noises (and my husband is not a small man). It looks much more expensive than it is. The fabric is very nice and the tufting looks very sturdy, not like the buttons are about to pop off. It was very easy to assemble, although I'm not a fan of the IKEA -like allen wrench construction. Even with that, we've been sleeping on it for a month and have no complaints. The only negative I have is that I wish the headboard was about 6 or8 inches higher. If you're planning on using Euro sized pillows as decoration, the headboard will be totally covered.
I absolutely love this bed and could not be happier with my purchase. The assembly was easy, although it does require the purchase of longer screws as other users have noted, as well as an electric screwdriver. The upholstery is beautiful, as are the dark brown wooden legs. It fits a low-profile box spring and standard queen size mattress quite nicely, with room for Euro size pillows that still sit below the top of the headboard. This looks exactly like a bed that would cost hundreds of dollars more -- such a steal. I have had no issues with squeaking or movement. I think that World Market updated this bed since the 2010 reviewers have commented, so I would say confidently that you can ignore those reviews. Highly recommended!!
