Why We Love It

Our Novica "Sawanhkalok Meadows" Celadon Ceramic Vase Set offers three lovely vases in different styles and sizes that all attest to the ceramic tradition of Sawankhalok in Sukhothai Province. Duangkamol is a master of Thailand's celadon ceramic technique, demonstrating her skill with this elegant trio. Their surfaces reveal the subtly crackled appearance of true celadon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely pieces. I have collected several celadon pieces and my favorites are from Thailand. The proportions are perfect for a grouping. I like that I received information about the artist in a personal note. January 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great set at a good price This set of three "Sawankhalok[often misspelled] Meadows" vases offer good artisanship at an import-store price. They are made in Thailand and display both definitions of "celadon": as a glaze open to etching and small crackling ("craqueleur") AND a soft green, light-jade in color. This is not apparent from product images here and other sites which portray an ice-blue shade instead. (There is also available from this maker what seems to be exactly the same trio of vases, but in a medium-blue color; and at this time a little cheaper.) I use mine in the grouping of three just to look pretty on the console behind my living-room sofa. Based on their rather small height (3.5 to 5.5 inches) and small necks, I do not consider them ideal for flowers or as reed-diffusers. But I think I got a good deal. The NOVICA concern is allied with the National Geographic to sell high-quality artifacts made in places like Africa or the Indian subcontinent at good prices, direct to North American consumers. Therefore, they will almost certainly take longer to arrive than other World Market Items because it involves shipping from a separate warehouse or all the way from the country of origin, in this case Thailand. Please allow extra time for that. I am very pleased with the purchase and glad I took the risk that "celadon" meant celadon colored. Someone should correct the hue of the product image, though.
