These are great. We bought two to keep on the bottom shelf of our coffee table in the den for casual meals in front of the TV, and they're great. I also love the texture. (They're fantastic for food photos, bloggers.) We bought them from the store and they didn't smell, and I did like getting to pick out the weave pattern myself since they can vary a bit.

I love natural-fiber placemats, and these are attractive and durable enough so they should give me years of use. The price was much less than that of similar products in department stores.

I wanted the natural fiber look to go with my rustic decor and these were perfect. I'd looked a similar placemats for twice the price. They do smell bad as soon as you take them out of the packaging, but I just let them air out and they were fine. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!
