I really like my lamp shades except for the first time that I turned on my lamp there was a foul odor and I couldn't figure where it was coming from until I got close to the lamp. The plastic that is inside the shade combined with the heat of the lightbulb made my room smell for awhile but it's since gone away other than that it's beautiful and I would purchase it again.

I love the lamp fabric, shape and color. The problem with this lamp, however, is that the lining is made of shiny plastic. This creates two issues: 1) if you use the lamp on a side table or nightstand, it is going to be low enough that you can see the inside lining of the lamp. The inside is very refractory, since it is made of clear plastic, so it produces an unpleasant gleam from the light bulb. 2) the shade is see-through, so you can completely see the light bulb through the shade. I am sad to be returning this shade because it is just the look I am going for.

I really loved the burlap, shape and size of this
lampshade but when I put it on my lamp base
with the lightbulb, you can totally see the bulb
through the shade. I was really disappointed
and had to return it,

I really liked the look of this lampshade, but when you turn the lamp on you can clearly see the lightbulb. I'm planning to take it back.

I agree with other reviews - this lamp shade is too see-through when it is on. You can see the light bulb and part of the metal shade supports. Also, since it is a screw-on shade instead of one with a harp & finial, it sits too low. If the lamp is on a side table, you can see the light bulb when standing up.
