Awesome Soup I love soup and could eat is 24/7. This is the best package soup I have ever had. Much better than Harry and David. I pretty much prepared it following the package direction with the exception I substituted chicken stock for the water. added smoked sausage. The soup is absolutely the best and I will continue to buy this and the others. October 2, 2011
A real Cajun's opinion This soup is very tasty, has great potential and the only thing I had to add was Tabasco, but I put it on everything, and Andouille Sausage.Try it you'll Like it. Also get some "real" french bread and butter and a good Beer. It is nice to find something to fix in a short time being so far from New Orleans. Being a native it's hard to find good stuff out this far west. October 31, 2011
Husband loved it Made this last night. Read the package where it suggested you could spice it up and added some extra cajun seasoning. Hubbie loved it. I put sausage and chicken in it and the chicken cooked up very nicely with the taste. I will make it for him again. He liked the soup-style as a "change of pace." The liquid is absorbed into the rice in the package we normally get. I can see that this would be easy to do your own thing with. The nearest World Market is over an hour away, thanks for offering it online. July 27, 2011
Pleasantly Surprised... Made this for the first time the other day...just finished my last bowl. I am a fan of Jambalaya, so at first I wasn't sure of the whole "soup" thing. I was surprised. Like the first reviewer said, it wasn't very hot...you can add to that. It would not be very smart of them to start off sooo hot to drive away possible repeat customers. The peppers they spoke of seemed to be just fine in my mix...maybe they didn't cook it long enough. I may try it again with a little less water; soupy isn't very soupy afterall in this mix, but I am going to try it a little bit on the drier side next time and see how it turns out. I came here to see if it was available online for purchase...going to order some now since the closest World Market is 1.5 hours away. April 28, 2011
Quick and easy, but tastes like it too.. It tastes like it came from a package. The peppers never quite resumed the taste or texture of fresh peppers, and it wasn't spicy enough for me. The aftertaste was unusual as well--almost as if it were sweet. I wasn't a big fan of this, though it wasn't completely awful. For [$] it was a steal, but I wouldn't buy again. March 26, 2011
Worst flavor ever! This product was disapointing. I added shrimp and sausage to the mix, it smelled wonderful while it cooked, but the taste was bitter, not good at all. A major waste of shellfish and smoked meat. March 27, 2012
Disappointed After trying & loving their Tortilla soup mix, I had high hopes for this soup. Sadly, this soup was not good at all. I ended up throwing it all out--what a waste! June 5, 2011
