This soup mix is the best we've ever eaten! It's very versatile;you can add your own broth, any kind, and a tiny bit of meat or some extra vegetables. Et voila! A flavorful soup that makes everyone's mouth water while it's cooking. And, it's a dry mix, so you can keep it on your shelf for a bit. Wonderful...
For a packaged soup mix, there are more steps than I am willing to take. Plus I didn't love the flavor. I will stick to the world market spicy tortilla and chicken noodle as my quick go-to's..
There are two packages in this mix, unmarked. Using my deductive powers, since there are often bread crumbs in meatballs, I used the breadcrumby looking one in the meat and left the yellow one for the soup. Guess that worked. Per salty review, I used 4 cups broth, 2 1/2 cups water.
I like soup mixes because they enable me to cook n batches for the week ahead. Often the flavors are passable, but nothing remarkable.
My husband loves clear broth soups, so felt inspired to try this. Make sure you use low sodium broth. And TASTE before you add salt. I like a more brothy soup, so I added an additional 2 cups of water, and it made it less salty. Also, wasn't sure which envelope was the meatball seasoning packet, so used the first one my fingers touched. Think it was the right one, as there is another seasoning packet tucked further into the package. But loved it, and will make it again and again. Mixes tend to taste, well, like a MIX. But served this one with garlic bread, and loved it!
