Rated 5 out of 5 by Ilovecake THE BEST EVER! My husband grew up with homemade red velvet cake every birthday. I found this mix at another store and had everyone FOOLED that it was homemade. His mother could NOT BELIEVE it was from a box. It is SO delicious and you add enough fresh ingredients to make it delicious! I have never seen it sold for less than 10$ so this is a STEAL. I plan to buy it in bulk. This will exceed your expectations, trust me! October 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by DisneyDenise I plan to buy this product again & again I followed this recipe exactly, and it was simple and the end result was amazing! My mom, who is from Louisiana, used to make red velvet cake from scratch. We "tricked" our family and told them that SHE made her cake, and after all had tried MY cake, we confessed that I made it and they were ALL shocked, because it tasted just like the one my mom would make from scratch! A definite HIT!!! December 5, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kayelady Best Red Velvet Cake Mix! This product makes a wonderfully moist and delicious cake. The frosting mix using cream cheese is extraordinary. The result is a beautifully light frosting that is almost sinful. Great for cupcakes or sheet cake. Keep refridgerate especially if using cream cheese in frosting because it will be too soft at room temp. This mix is so good, I always buy two boxes of mix because I usually get requests for cupcakes for holiday parties. October 8, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by betty421 Nice taste, lots of fat... Made these as cupcakes as = requested by a child. I liked the cake - it was fluffy and not too terribly sweet, whereas he thought they weren't sweet enough. I liked that the batter -- when it splattered -- didn't leave a lasting stain. It's nice that the cake batter mix and frosting base are in the box. However, I usually make my frosting from scratch, so even though it tasted good, I couldn't get past knowing what was in it (it calls for 1c milk, 1/2c shortening and 1.5 sticks margarine). There was a LOT of frosting left over. Maybe you'd use it all on a cake. Last, it was a hot day when I made it, and had to keep the cupcakes in the fridge till serving, because the frosting just started to 'melt.' Still, in a pinch, I'd use this mix again. May 20, 2013
