I am a pretty handy woman and usually don't have trouble assembling furniture. This chair however was very difficult to put together. The screws were in awkward places/angles and the tools provided weren't sufficient since you could only get a quarter turn before you ran into a stop. Other parts of the chair needed to be unscrewed, assembled with extra parts and then re-screwed. Took about 2-3 hours to fully complete. Luckily, once completed, we are very happy with it. It is comfortable, stylish and is exactly what I was looking for.
I loved this chair until 10 minutes ago when one of the wheels snapped off. I leaned back and went fying backwards. Had I not been able to catch myself I would have hit the back of my head on the tile floor. The bolt attaching the wheel broke apart with the screwed in section being stuck there. So I can't even replace the wheel because the the hole is filled with the broken bolt.
I purchased this chair about one (1) year ago, along with a matching office desk. The chair structural support welds recently failed between the Metal Seat Bracket (Item C) and the Metal Cylinder (Item D). I weigh 150 #, so I don't feel that I ever exceeded the weight limit on this product. When it failed, it collapsed from the side with the seat of the chair severing from the legs and gave me a good toss to the floor. After a thorough inspection, it appears that the welds failed at the Metal Seat Bracket. I love this chair, but would caution anyone considering the purchase to take a good look at the structural welds of the hardware before you purchase, and certainly with on- going inspections if you do purchase . World Market, graciously supplied me with a new Hardware Package at no cost, even though the purchase was out of warranty; certainly their commitment to customer service is commendable. I will continue to use my chair with new replacement components, inspecting the welds periodically, to insure their integrity. Hope this helps!
Comparing with other priced wood chairs at professional furniture stores, this chair is really a good deal to meet my request. it fits my home office perfectly!
Love this chair, looks good, very good quality, LOVE the large seat.
I've wanted this style chair to go with my antique mahogany desk for years but could never find one at a reasonable price. This one, however, is perfect! Not only does the color match but I found it easy to assemble (and I'm a 60+ year old woman) and it is actually quite comfortable, with or without a seat pad.
We bought this chair for our computer desk, which we purchased at another store and we are very pleased. The chair took about 30 min for me to assemble by myself. It is pretty heavy and solidly built. So far we are pleased. It looks more expensive than it was, it is comfortable and reasonably priced.
