When I bought these, I had no idea they were soap dishes! I actually bought two to use as candleholders on each side of my entertainment hutch. The candles are only used for decoration and are never lit. The hutch is a dark espresso so the white really pops. I get so many compliments on them!

I know it´s just a soap dish, but the picture was so off that I had to post others. Don´t get me wrong, I´m satisfied with this product and I think it looks great, but it doesn´t look like the one on the site.
First of all, there´s no volume and dimension in the lotus "petals". It´s pretty flat, with carvings as the petals´ contours. The proportions are also a little different. I actually prefer the design I received, because it´s more like a modern representation of a flower, less literal. However, other people could be disappointed.
The material (alabaster) seems extremely durable. It´s also a little translucent, which creates a great visual effect (that you cannot see in the World Market picture).
Overall, I think is has a unique design, it´s pretty, durable and functional. All at a great price. Just keep in mind that what you see on line is not what you get.

I ordered two of these dishes. When delivered, one was broken into about four large pieces (and many small) and the other had a piece that was clearly chipped off & repaired. Both were in bubble wrap so I don't know at what point the one was broken but apparently they are fragile. They also didn't look as nice as the one in the photo.
