Rated 5 out of 5 by Calivegan Solid kitchen multitasker! I love cast iron cookware so when I saw this two-in-one pot I was thrilled. The Dutch oven portion functions as one would expect a Lodge Dutch oven to perform: flawlessly. It retains heat really well, browns food nicely, and when set over a low flame simmers perfectly. I use the Dutch oven to cook so many things, I love the versatility of this pot. The lid/skillet is great too. The rounded sides make for easy stirring and I've even used it as a small roasting pan for roasting veggies in the oven. I love cookware that serves multiple functions and this pot does not disappoint. Some tips on cast iron... Do not use on high heat. Simply pre-heat over a medium flame for 5-10 minutes and your pan will be plenty hot without scorching your food. Do not soak your cast iron cookware as you will just be inviting rust. Avoid highly acidic ingredients until your pan has developed a strong seasoning/patina. I have a cast iron pan that is 13 years old and its seasoning can stand up to tomato sauce but it takes a long time to get there. Other than that, enjoy your cast iron cookware and this pan is sure to delight you. December 17, 2014

Good price for the pot; versatile, with the lid doubling as a skillet. Exactly as expected. The more I use cast iron, the more I like it. Prices for Lodge competitive at World Market. If you've never tried it, bake bread using a wet dough in a cast iron Dutch oven. (Uncover for the last few minutes to brown the top.) I've never had a loaf cook up nicer! September 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Megbat Sturdy, well-seasoned, dual-duty Got this as a wedding present and we use it near daily. A great dutch oven that comes pre-seasoned. The lid doubles as a cast iron skillet. Great for dishes that call for browning on the stove and finishing in the oven, no extra dirty dishes. Great heat distribution, the cast iron holds the heat and spreads it evenly letting you cook bacon and sear chicken with as little as medium heat! April 23, 2013

It appears to have black enamel on it in the photo and when I received it, it did not have enamel, but was simply cast iron. I had to seal it with oil, but that is not difficult. It is excellent for soups and stews and about half price of what others sell for in the stores. The lid may be used as a skillet separately and is also very serviceable. I greatly appreciate being given a really good value for a piece that I can use for years. January 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by CindySue1 My Dutch Oven I've been wanting a dutch oven for years now and when I found this and learned it was on sale I had to get one. I've had my dutch oven for about a month now and have used it about 10 times, even took it up to MI when I visited my daughter so I could make them a meal. The only drawback is that you can't simply put the dutch oven in the fridge if you want leftovers. Other than that, which isn't a big deal to me, it's one of the best purchases I've ever made.
