Rated 5 out of 5 by LivingAtWMwrngDntWanaBeRt High Quality Jute Rug Jute rugs in general to me are very casual rugs - but they can be nice in a casual space - or they can be snaggy and ratty and gross. When you first get them, low quality jute looks breaky and thin - you can tell right away that it isn't going to wear well. But this rug looks like it will stand up! It's incredibly thick! And HEAVY. The weave is nice and tight and chunky. Also - with linen edges- sometimes the binding isn't very nice and they can come apart/get stringy - but this looks like it should hold up. The rug does come damp when you unroll it which other reviewers mentioned. I'm sure it has something to do with the packaging & how the fibers will act if they were curled dry. However, I have a very sensitive sense of smell and I didn't notice any smell coming from the rug at all. It hasn't quite calmed down from the packaging/shipping and is still a bit bumpy (after a day it isn't laying flat in the middle yet) but this should go down. I got the 3x5 for a hallway nook in our small condo. It fills the space very nicely and looks good and neutral! Overall a very good value & solid rug!!!! December 4, 2015
