Rated 5 out of 5 by Rosewriter Provence is Calling! One whiff and your mind drifts off to the lavender fields of Provence where "la lavande" is more than a plant, it's a way of life. Do not be concerned if your very first sniff seems a bit mild--I found that once the little packet had been opened for awhile (I don't remember if it was a few hours or a couple of days), the fragrance became even stronger. I wasn't sure what I would do with these fragrant gems, but I knew I was glad to have them. I'm sure there are recipes that would impress with the addition of a bit of lavender. I just tossed a few into a pot of tea and was transported to heaven! The lavender buds come in a resealable plastic baggie and stay fragrant a long time. I have no idea how long, because mine were gone long before then, and I'm sure I'd had them several months. Perhaps they keep their marvelous scent for all eternity. You could probably toss a few into boiling water to make your house fragrant. I suspect you could even burn them like incense. Two things I know for sure: 1) whatever you use them for, they are more than a bargain, and 2) I'm going to order more right now! J'aime la lavande! (I love lavender!) December 17, 2012
