I purchased this bowl to use for salad and fresh fruit and I really love it. The inside is modern, with a slick glossy finish, (maybe epoxy) and the exterior is an earthy natural wood that make this bowl very unique and lovely. The only thing that didn't get this a 5-star rating is the instructions caution not to wash the bowl, rather it is to be wiped out with a damp rag. I'm not sure this is particularly a sanitary solution, but the bowl's esthetic qualities are phenomenal.
