Kona Rectangular Dining Table 2.4 5 11 11
Teak Oil I just bought this. I'm putting it together right now. It's easy to assemble. Based on the previous reviews, before I put it outside, I'll rub a couple of coats of teak oil into it. From what I understand, teak oil is supposed to protect against water and mildew. Later, if needed, I may apply a coat of polyurethane to the tabletop. October 9, 2010
Functional simplicity The original table [...] was damaged, so we had to return it. Replacement [...] was very easy to assemble. We've enjoyed using this table on our roof terrace. With an umbrella it makes a great table for eating and just sitting around on a warm day or evening. June 1, 2009
Great value for a beautiful collection! This is a beautiful table. We got the entire collection and couldn't be happier. We were looking at Teak furniture collections but didn't want to spend [$]+. This is as beautiful. Not has sturdy but that would be assumed. We entertain every weekend and everyone compliments us on how beautiful it is. So far its lasted outside a year and 1 1/2 with no weathering. Still looks as good as new! March 23, 2009
It's a beautiful table. [...]It's a beautiful table and guests routinely remark that the table must have cost "an arm and a leg." If they only knew what a great deal I got. My table also sits in direct sunlight and is holding up very well. I would recommend buying this table to anyone. July 8, 2008
Kona Dining Table I bought this table because I loved the design and color. However after having to leave the table out in the elements for a year I had to refinish the entire table top due to mold and pollen buildup which when washed off removed the stain color. I live in the deep south where pollen, mildew and mold are a constant problem. Would have hoped the table would have lasted a little bit longer and did also oil the wood during this period to keep it from drying out too much. Its alright pricewise if you don't expect this table to weather like teak. April 26, 2009
Terrible in dry climates I bought the Kona table and a number of pieces from the Baja set. I'm sorry to say I think it's the worst patio furniture I could have purchased in the desert southwest. The wood dried, cracked, and split at many of the glued joints. Over time it kept shrinking, until it literally fell apart. I've oiled and urethaned twice, and finally resulted to reinforcing the table and chairs with galvanized plates. If you live in CA, AZ, NM, or NV do yourself a favor and don't buy this furniture. Worst patio investment ever! We bought this table and a full set of Catalina charis and bench 2 seasons ago. This year, it is all headed to the wood pile. DO NOT buy this if you live in a sunny or arid environment (NM, AZ, CA). The wood fades incredibly quickly, continually dries and shrinks (requiring constant tightening) and eventually splits. I should have taken the hint when the first bench we brought home promptly split at a key seam after only 2 weeks outdoors and returned the lot. Our furniture" was in partial shade all day, stored in the winter, and I treated the wood twice in the past 2 years. Every piece has completely fallen apart. I am shocked at the low quality for the price we paid. We "invested" over $600 on our set only to be sourly disappointed in the furniture. March 18, 2011
Very Poor Quality We bought this table (and chairs) because we thought is looked really nice however the quality is horrible! We coated/waterproofed it at least a few times but it still warped, in some places the wood was splitting and, the slats on the table and chairs would move & shift. Not worth the money. I do not recommend this set. March 9, 2011
