Rated 4 out of 5 by NaeNae VERY thick rope around the cord. Not good for small lanterns/shades. It's not a fine twine wrapped around a cord, it's a thick ROPE. Great if you have a large shade/lantern, but not a dainty one like I had. If you're gonna go big with the shade and want a rustic, earthy or even an industrial feel then it's good. Indoor only. The rope is way too long. It measures approximately 14 feet, 5 inches. Had this information been available I could have saved myself time and shipping. Hope this helps somebody else. May 23, 2015

The robe is a little thick and stiff, but I got the look I wanted. The length was good, and in combination with the pulleys, retro industrial light fixture, and Einstein buld, it looks great.
