Why We Love It

Heinz Spotted Dick Pudding is the traditional British sponge pudding made with golden syrup, suet and raisins that has been a staple in pantries all over the UK for over a century. Traditionally steamed in a cloth, today it is commonly baked in the oven and served warm over custard. Hints of rum, cinnamon and nutmeg add to its warming, comfort-food appeal. And in case you're wondering - it's the currants resembling spots that lend to its name.

Weird name... Despite the strange name, this is very tasty! Super easy to make, and even the picky eaters seem to really enjoy it! August 26, 2012
Yummy! Read all about it!..... Hello! In spite of the odd British name of this excellent pudding cake (which gets it's name from the raisins), it's a delicious & moist cake. ~ Down here in Louisiana we have many of oddly named foods but this one may win out! And as a Fun "gift-giving" treat? Why not. It really is yummy and has a long shelf life. :) December 4, 2011
