Love this dutch oven!! I absolutely love this cast iron dutch oven stock pot. I purchased it because i couldnt afford the more expensive $200 version and this is perfect -i dont see what the big difference is, I made soup last night and it came out perfect and tender and everything tasted wonderful. The pot is very heavy, sturdy and the color of the green is beautiful on my kitchen stove! definitely 5 stars!!! for the price you cant go wrong! April 25, 2011
Best Dutch Oven Ever! So, I have always heard of dutch ovens, but never had one. I saw the price of decent ones and I thought it ridiculous to pay $200 for one stupid pot, then I went to World Market, checked it out and then bought the red one. The sucker is pretty heavy and the quality is as comparable as those top brands one that I have also seen at Williams Sonoma. I use it to cook curries, stews, coq au vin, beef bourguignon and even sometimes as a stock pot to boil crabs and crawfish (if making for 2-3 people). April 17, 2011
Great Pot better than LeCruset never use on high heat, always start on medium or low. Hiogh heat will pop the porclain insides and render the pot useless.I have owned LeCruset for many years and this is as good or better. December 27, 2010
Awesome My girlfriend got this for me, never used one before and wasnt sure how well it would work. I cook in it now at least twice a week. The food comes out great, and best of all it cleans super easy. I cant imagine any of the expensive brands working any better, you gotta get one. December 7, 2010
I'm VERY pleased Have been looking for a good, affordable, cast iron dutch oven and the bonus here is that it's enameled (although somewhat thinly - so careful there). I'd use wood or silicon utensils. No worries about rusting or having to reseason. Made a great beef bourguignon. It's just what I wanted. December 6, 2010
Love this! I was going to buy the expensive french brand, but was hesitant because they cost so much. So I thought for the price of this one I would give it a try and return if I didn't like it. I LOVE it. I works so well I can't imagine paying 4 times the price for the name brand, it can't be any better than this one. Going back to buy the other pieces in this beautiful apple green. Fantastic and simple to assemble This was easy to assemble, complete with directions. Make sure you follow them to a T to avoid your house's roof sliding down. Came with plenty of icing and a large variety of candies. This is the only gingerbread kit I would ever buy. December 6, 2008
All I need I was dubious about the quality of this pot so I went to my local store and looked at the stock there. I think the best option is to do that, rather than ordering online, because I spent 10 minutes or so closely looking at pots to find one with a tight fitting lid and no chips --although to be honest it was at the tail end of a sale and the remaining stock had probably been handled a lot. THAT SAID: I love my Dutch oven. I think it looks as good as a Le Creuset, and for my purposes it certainly performs as well. I braised turkey legs in it and they were silky and delicious, the lid kept the steam in, the food stayed warm in the pot for 45 minutes out of the oven, and after all that long cooking time cleanup was ridiculously easy, a matter of swiping with a soapy sponge. It seems to me that this pot is an excellent bargain if you're not hung up on brand names (and some of your visitors may assume it's a brand-name piece anyway). December 27, 2010
